When you want to announce to the world that you have made a new blog entry, ping it! Some blogs automatically ping blog search engines every time the blogger creates a new post. The ping sends a signal (XML-RPC) to notify blog search engines "ping servers", that a Blogger has made a new post or updated an old post.
Blog search engines provide fresh results very quickly by checking only recently published blogs. Then they add them to a list of blogs having new content.
